We love surprises! For Mimi's 80th birthday, and my 30th birthday, my parents flew us to Michigan for a few days. What fun it was to surprise her and spend time with her. Mimi also had a surprise party that we were able to attend. She also had surgery to remove some cancer on her bladder that I was able to be at the hospital for. The surgery went very well. In fact, Mimi wanted to go shopping the next day. I made her postpone that trip until another day.
Unlike our trip in July, we were able to spend time on the farm. There were lots of rides on the mini horse Prince and on the golf cart. Uncle Brad made sure we had several rides on Prince. My dad fixed a special seat on the golf cart for Max. Max and Grandpa spent the mornings "working" on the farm. There were a few times I had to leave and Grandpa HAD to babysit. I really don't think he minded. Grandma was pretty jealous, she started work and had to teach all week. We did make a trip to her college. It was Max's first college tour. Its never too early to be thinking about college! My Mom's best friend, Larissa, is from Romania and also teaches at the college. She would speak to Max in Romanian and he would listen and laugh as if he understood her! Another highlight was our "Pony and Pizza" party with Amber and Doni (childhood friends). They brought their little boys over and we rode the pony. The highlight for them was when the pony pooped.
A great trip overall! Sorry to my friends that I didn't get to see this trip. It's especially hard to leave now. But Max is a turning into a traveling man. On the way home, he was entertaining our whole flight. It was a small flight and he was talking and smiling to everyone on the plane. Andy had a different experience getting home. Due to fog his flight out of Detroit was late to take off and this led Andy to have a 14 hour day in the airports. This was bad enough, but he also developed a 103 fever that day. He is still recovering from this bad virus. We are pretty sure he had H1N`.
