Pumpkin Patch

Fall is here with force! We have had a mix of snow and sun this October. When the Woodland Park playgroup sent an invitation to the pumpkin farm, I was hoping for a day like today. The sun was out and it was a beautiful day! The farm is in Colorado Springs and the farmer, who recently passed, dedicated himself to making sure every school child in Colorado Springs received a pumpkin for FREE. The farm was donated to a foundation to ensure this tradition continues. That right there makes you feel good about life! Max enjoyed watching all the big kids playing in the dirt, watching the animals, and picking pumpkins. It was a great day with my baby, friends, and their babies!
I think when Andy thinks of this fall, he will associate it with watching the Broncos go 5-0 with a rookie coach, but watching the games with Max. Max really needed a nap last Sunday, but did not want to be in his crib. Andy said it was because he told him he could watch the game. They both had a quick snooze in the first half. We've had a couple great lazy football Sundays.
The window. Its funny that I didn't even think we needed a changing table. Our friend let us borrow it and it fits perfectly in the window sill. I've spent a lot of time looking out this window. Max used to hate being naked and would scare me with his scream when I changed him. Now he loves to be naked and makes me smile with all his giggles. We've watched the tree change through the seasons; no leaves, leaves, yellow leaves, snow on leaves, and now they have all fallen off. I watched my dad pace in the road waiting for me to give the okay to come in to play with Max. I've spied on the bear. I've called everyone I know to talk from this spot. I've watched Andy come and go from work. I cried as my parents left for Michigan after their month long stay. The window. Crazy how so many little memories from this one place have come to mean so much.
