Transitions

Lots of transitions in our lives this past month. Offically, I am a working mom. Having time off from teaching has really given me a new perspective on teaching. I have learned to prioritize how I spend my energy at school. Seems like it can be easy to get caught up in things that really don't matter. This is probably true for any job. Focusing on my students, good lessons, and my team has really been refreshing. Being at home for the semester was very special and I loved every minute of being with Max. Transitioning from home to work has gone fairly well. Very fatigued by the end of the day, but I get to go to bed early with Max. Last week Max cried when I left him, but by the end of the week he waved goodbye to me for the first time. Already looking forward to summer vacation. My plan is to work next fall and take the following spring semester off.

Max started at daycare. He is enjoying getting to know Virginia and Gary. They are very sweet and welcoming. Max spends lots of time playing with Madison and Charlotte. The girls love to make him laugh and he is entertained by their silliness.

On the days when Andy is off during the week, he and Max spend the day together. They are finding their own rhythm together. Often their days are spent in their pjs together. On warm winter days they have made it to the park. Andy is a great dad and Max is loving being home with him.

Offically, Max is crawling. This past weekend he was able to string all the movements of crawling together. He has been so close for so long. Although, most of his time is spent practicing standing on his own. He is quite the little dare devil. We count 1-2-3 and he stands straight up with a grin on his face. Our world as we know it is changing!

He is eating more and more solid food. Cheetos and graham crackers are his favorite snack. He looks like such a little boy when he his chowing down on them. His dogs are his new best friend. Homer and Max have already made a deal with each other about sharing food. He has had the two bottom front teeth since Christmas, but this past weekend got his first top front tooth. AMAZING!

Bath time is his favorite time of day. He is fascinated by the water coming out of the faucet. Seriously, he will stay in the tub until his bottom lip starts to shiver. He gets very upset when I turn off the faucet. See photo above for an example.
